Construction work has begun on the new Safari Africa zone at Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Ohio, US.
The new area has been designed to 'transform' guests into world travelers on an adventure to southern and eastern Africa.
Visitors will find a colorful and active village outside the gates of a national park and experience the sights and sounds of a vast savannah from raised platforms.
The new zone will be home to a range of African animals including giraffe and zebra.
The 43-acre project is expected to cost around US$30m (23m euro, £19m) and is set to open in May 2014.
